sources
as a single-point historical reference for private non-commercial use.
Map images are presented as obtained from the source, without captions or explanation.
Quality of the map images varies.
Many of the maps are hand drawings.
For best results use
Internet Explorer
and view in a maximized window
(this should happen automatically regardless of browser used).
Most maps are contained in large image files.
Allow time for the file to load.
Select the map to view from the list at left.
Move pointer over selection to display a description of the selection.
Description of the map selection is displayed in the Status Bar at the bottom left of the window.
Click on the name of the map to view from the list at left.
A preview of the map will be displayed in this area.
The scrollbar at left can be used to view additional map selections.
Click on the map displayed in this area to open it maximized in a new window.
Use scrollbars at bottom and/or right of screen to view larger maps.
Keyboard arrow keys may also be used to view larger maps.
Click on the large map to close its window
(you may also use key combination Alt+F4).
Some maps use symbols which are identified in
KEY TO ARMY MAP SYMBOLS
and
ADDITIONAL SYMBOLS.
